| Notes | William T. Scott fought in the United States Civil War for the Union Side. He was a colonel of the 3rd Kentucky Regiment, which fought at the Battle of Chickamauga. He also developed the Triplett and Scott Carbine in 1864. It was a repeater rifle patented by Louis Triplett of Columbia, Kentucky. The state of Kentucky contracted with Will Scott to produce the carbines to arm the Home Guard, but by the time they were delivered the US Civil War had ended. |
