As stated above, it doesn't take much rain to fill a slot as narrow as Egypt 3 to a height that would drown a person. If the group had arrived a few hours after the event ended rather than being in the canyon, they probably wouldn't have had any idea a wall of water that high had just gone through. Within 3.5 miles Egypt Road crosses the upper portion of Twentyfive Mile Wash. Continue another 5.5 miles and bear right. Egypt Trailhead is 1 mile farther. This road is usually passable for vehicles with moderate clearance, but check with the Escalante Interagency Visitor Information Center for current road conditions. We initially signed up for Egypt 3, but were the only ones that did, and noticed that Chris, Jim and Lisa were the only ones signed up for 1.5, so decided to swap canyons and head out with them. After a some quick directions on how to find the canyon, we set out on the 30 minute or so drive. Egypt 3 Slot Canyon is a 7.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Escalante, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate.
